What's Underneath?

As you walk across your floor you might hear a squeak or pop. Maybe you feel an uneven surface under your carpet or a hump in your hardwood flooring. This leads to the question, “What’s underneath?”.

That flooring you walk on daily has been installed over a designed sub flooring system that supports you and all your personal belongings. Proper beams, supports and joists are required to maintain a level smooth surface.

As you enter a room on an unfamiliar house you might think, this is a nice addition. However, you notice a slight change in the floor height.

Underneath you could find this addition sitting on what used to be a deck. What’s underneath does matter.

Home Inspections look in to the underlying subfloor systems and potentially reveal what could make the difference of being supported or falling through.
